Alex rigs the house with booby traps with help from his pet rat Doris and his brother's loud-mouthed parrot. Beaupre, Alice, Jernigan and Unger break in, spring the traps, and suffer various injuries. While the four pursue Alex around the house, he flees and rescues Mrs. Hess, who has been duct taped to a chair in her garage by Alice.
Beaupre ambushes Alex, but the latter uses a bubble gun resembling a Glock to scare him off. The Home Alone films are available to stream on the Disney+ platform. Regardless, it remains a popular holiday standard even now, thirty years on, and its outreach and appeal has led to merchandise, spin-offs and even fan remakes and spoofs.

Alex Pruitt, an 8-year-old boy living in Chicago, must fend off international spies who seek a top-secret computer chip in his toy car. Meanwhile, FBI agents and Chicago PD officers arrive at Alex's siblings' school after a tipoff from the recruitment center. Alex's family brings the agents and the police to their house, where they arrest Alice, Jernigan, and Unger. The parrot drives the remote control car into the fort and threatens to light fireworks, which are lined around the inside. Beaupre offers a cracker in exchange for silence, but the parrot demands two.
The spies have tracked the chip to Alex's neighborhood, and faces off against Alex who is home sick with the chicken pox. Released in 1990, the first film focused Culkin's Kevin, a young child who gets left alone in his family's sizable upper-middle class Chicago estate over Christmas. His situation alerts the attention of Harry and Marv , who both attempt to ransack and rob the empty home -- although it doesn't quite go to plan.

Most recently, a fan created a hilarious YouTube video that saw Kevin McAllister take on the horrifying Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village thanks to a mashing-up of footage. Pesci, who famously played the bungling burglar Harry, one-half of a duo with Daniel Stern's Marv, was notably skeptical when asked by People about a prospective Home Alone homecoming. That's because he thinks it might be hard to replicate the "innocence" of the original family Christmas comedies. "While you never say never, I think that it would be difficult to replicate not only the success but also the overall innocence of the originals," he said. "It's a different time now; attitudes and priorities have changed in 30 years."

Since Beaupre has only one, the parrot then lights the fireworks and flees. Eight-year-old Alex Pruitt is given the remote control car by Mrs. Hess for shoveling her driveway. He returns home and discovers that he has chickenpox and must stay out of school. The next day, Alex discovers the thieves while spying on his neighbors. He tries to report them to police, but they fail to find evidence of burglary and Alex is wrongly reprimanded for making hoax calls, so decides to take the matter into his own hands.

Whilst McAllister shows no fear towards either criminal, the same can't be said about Pesci and Culkin off-camera. Pesci avoided his castmate at all times to play on the fear the youngster had towards him after starring in GoodFellas. Pesci even left Culkin with a permanent scar during the filming of a scene where Harry threatens to bite Kevin's fingers off. When Alex is explaining that the bad guys had Johnny Allen's dog and Allen said his dog was stolen, the police brush it off. Johnny Allen reporting his dog missing and Alex seeing the dog with the bad guys is sufficient enough evidence for Alex's story to have credibility. The thieves finally deduce that Alex has been watching them and decide to break into his house.
Alex attaches a camera to the remote control car and uses it to spy on them, leading to the thieves chasing it when they spot it. Wondering what they want with the toy car, Alex opens it and discovers the stolen chip. He informs the local Air Force Recruitment Center about the discovery and asks if they can forward the information about the chip to the right authorities. Peter Beaupre, Alice Ribbons, Burton Jernigan, and Earl Unger are four internationally wanted criminals who work for a terrorist organization. However, a luggage mix-up causes a Chicago-bound elderly passenger named Mrs. Hess to inadvertently take the thieves' bag containing the car.
It was filmed in Chicago and Evanston, Illinois, with the airport scenes in the beginning of the film being shot at two different concourses at O'Hare International Airport.
Of course, the original Home Alone has become one of the most-watched Christmas films ever. I like the cat and mouse game, but the premise is way too serious. Four high-tech industrial spies are trying to smuggle out a top secret military microchip to North Korea. A mixup at airport security leaves Mrs. Hess with the microchip hidden in a remote control car. After Alex shovels Mrs. Hesses' driveway, she gives him the car as payment.
The four thieves arrive in Chicago and systematically search every house in Mrs. Hess's suburban neighborhood to find the chip. The film tells the story of an 8-year-old boy who defends his home from a dangerous band of international criminals working for a terrorist organization. It is the third film in the Home Alone franchise, and the first not to feature actor Macaulay Culkin, director Chris Columbus, or composer John Williams. It is also the final film in the Home Alone franchise to receive a theatrical release.

While Joe Pesci's last appearance in the Home Alone film franchise lies three decades in the past, the actor admits there's still a chance -- albeit a small one -- for a return. For those of us who want to see Scarlett Johansson, she has a minor role as the sister. Macaulay Culkin refused to do this film, simply because he'd grown tired of the role, and felt that there was nothing else he could've done with it. Fox Family Films was the division of 20th Century Fox responsible for the production on the film.
